Imagine through Comics Club
Imagine through Comics Club was a space for LGBTQIA+ youth to read and discuss comics centering queer and trans creators, characters, and movements. It was also a supportive collaborative environment to learn about and create comics alongside community! Each youth was provided with 2 free comic books, one centering a QTBIPOC lead and the other about comics-making. Below is a reel and flyer by me to promote the club. I conceptualized and facilitated the club at SMYAL DC.
LGBTQ+ Inclusive Comics for Rainbow Families Workshop
Two comics modeling answering children’s questions intentionally, accurately, and inclusively (and then introducing a relevant children’s book)! I made these for a SMYAL workshop at Rainbow Families on diverse books that represent LGBTQ+ experiences.
